This was taken some years ago in the countryside in Western Ukraine. The small country church was visited only sporadically by a travelling priest. There was none in the small village. The locals took care of it and worshipped there on their own and with the priest when he came. The older villagers went more frequently and in this shot, my grandmonther is praying at the cross outside before entering the church. I will always remember her, the trip and the devotion of those villagers in their care of this lovely old wooden church.
