The not so well known "highlands" region of northern NJ supplies clean drinking water for over 1/4 of the overpopulated state's residents. Truly a treasure that is threatened by development and needs to be preserved and protected.

    Agreed. Water supply is most valuable. It amazes how developers get by with altering, or outright destroying valuable wetlands and streams. I've never heard of Jersey highlands, though I imagine somewhere west of the Palisades region?
