The Mouse

Doing animal rescue as we do, we have 12 cats living with us here in the country. They are all very responsible mousers.

Six little mice like this one, but deceased, were found by me distributed around the house this week. And then, here was numero seven, huddled in the bottom of the pantry, shivering, eyes not yet opened.

I felt so sorry for this little creature. I did not know what to do, so I put him outside in the flower bed. I figured I'd give this one a sporting chance. Here, there are five acres of grass and brush in which he can hide.

God speed, little rodent. Hope I won't be seeing you again...for you are the apparent, lone survivor.
