Behind the youths you can see a cupid (on the left) and Neptune slaying an octopus to impress a water nymph.

I find it interesting that the girls are smiling and at ease while the boys posture with serious expressions. On the whole, I do not pose my subjects. So I find it even more interesting that the two females in my portraits titled “Two Fathers” (April 27) and “Charles and Juanita” (April 27) are also smiling and relaxed while all the males are posturing and serious.
