A guard tower from the German concentration camp north of Bruxelles, that served as a staging point on the long ride to Auschweitz. The camp stands exactly the way it appeared on 3.9.1944, when the Allies arrived. The good news, if you can call it that, is that every day of the week the Belgian teaching establishment moves a steady stream of high schoolers through here. Among other things, they learn that three of the most infamous guard's names - Wijss, De Bodt, and Pelleman - belonged to Belgians.
