I took this picture when I was 13 years old with a Ricoh 500 rangefinder I had inherited from my grandfather. This is approximately the same year that we landed on the moon for the first time - a long time ago! It marks my entrance into 35mm photography.
Somehow I managed to hang on to this negative over the years. It's a bit pitted and scratched, and maybe someday I'll fix that, but for now the marks seem to add a sense of character and time to the picture.

Neat story and not a bad shot for 13 year old!

You are absolutely right, if you fix the scratches the photo (which work very well with the commentary) it could very well lose it's charm...
