Located on the west side of Olympic Ntnl. Park, this rain forest exists as testimony to the heavy rains that the state of Washington receives. Unfortunately, the travel westward was ruined by logging areas just outside the park.

    It's an incredible place. So much of the Olympic Peninsula has been subjected to clear-cut harvesting. And then it's replanted with a monoculture of the same trees to be clear-cut again at a later date. And it's such a beautiful area. Neat image and it does make one think. R

    Wish I had gone to the Hoh Rain Forest 2 years ago. Instead, we continued south on 101 and saw that hideously ugly logging territory!
