To all my JPG friends: Thanks so much for all the condolences. Fred and I are back in Italy. The service for Siegie, a gathering of family and friends at her beloved sister's house, was the very kind of one she'd have deeply appreciated. Though our stay in LA was short, it was full of poignant moments, including time shared with Nonna, Fred and Siegie's oldest sister. Because both their parents had to work, Nonna left school when she was in her early teens to care for Fred and Siegie. Nonna once appeared to be destined to become a prima ballerina, having been compared to Fonteyn. That didn't come about, but for years she and her husband were a popular opening dance act for big name stars in Vegas and performed on TV and did shows around the country. I captured this shot of Nonna in her living room while she related a family story to my daughter Kim. The flowers in the background are from Siegie's memorial service.
