Joan desires a story. So, I will be doing this in installments for now until I have enough for a story. I have been a regular visitor of Juan´s garage of curiousities lately, since I pass his place frequently enough on my treks in & around the Parc Güell area as of late. He remains child like in his enthusiasm of telling his tales of history via toys he has collected and mounted as his version on the Belen or Pesebre ( baby & the Manger scene ) of the world. He is like an an Onion as I have been slowly peeling away at the layers & his take on life. Some may consider him eccentric, personally I think he is positively an industrious & entertaining fellow, he´ll bend anyones ear, so if you happen to be one of the many passersby heading up or down the hill from Parc Güell, You must stop by & see his installation & hear him spin His-story.

Ambassador of Belllicose History the world. The Toy-man of Parc Guell in Barcelona. A project of Barcelona Stories within the region of Catalunya. Working your way up into the upper reaches of Barcelona, is the Parque Guell, at the entrance way on the Calle de Mariano, No. 16, most days, you´ll find this local treasure of a human being with a child´s spirit ready to reveal a world of wonders for a few sheckles. This 74 year old resident of Barcelona, Joan Bosch i Santos, legendary a story-teller of that district, welcomes any and all visitors to partake in a surrealists´´military history of the world. This phenomenon invited by the locals once upon a time to build a year-round. ¨pessebre¨or manger, instead rejected this typical Catalan Christmas tradition and opted for a cross between his own bellicose history f the world. This extraordinary story teller, ended up constructing what seems like an art installation of miniatures-cum-toy modern toy museum., yet formed what he calls his own, ´One of the 3 most important Military Museums in all of Europe after Lisbon and Madrid¨ (non-profit, of course). In the midst of a garage entrance flanked by motor cycles and parked vehicles, Joan invites the public to embark on his magical historical journies thru the wars, utilising a mixture of tin soldiers, broad expression narrations, human foley sounds, religious action figures, Warner Brothers cartoon characters and local Spanish Military figurines as the protagonists in his version of the worlds´ varied histories.
