The terra cotta warriors of Xian, China are truly the archeological find of the 20th century! In my estimation, they are the 8th wonder of the world, on a par with the great pyramids. Each terra cotta warrior has a different face, depicting the emperor's army individuals.
Found by a simple farmer, who was digging a new well in a time of drought, the find is a treasure going back to the first emperor of China.
The emperor's tomb, under a man-made hill, has still not been excavated. One can only wonder at the treasures that will be found there. This cruel emperor was also responsible for the great wall of China, and the deaths of thousands of laborers.
The Xian site is a great artistic and archeological treasure!
