If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

I love this picture so much I took it about five yrs ago, (inside the colosseum), on my first ever trip to Italy... The girl pictured is Laura an ex-girlfriend who I dated briefly in Dublin and who I fell madly in love with. Desperate to keep the relationship going after she returned to Italy I came to visit her...Unfortunately my effort proved to be in vain, which given the distance involved was probably for the best. However I did gain a new love during my time in Rome and Pescara with her, a love of Italy and the Italian language, which remained with me long after I returned to Ireland. Now almost five years later I find myself living and working in Italy. A few months after I arrived here Laura came to visit me in Biella and we had a lovely time together as friends. It felt strange seeing her after so many years and to be perfectly honest it was difficult not to fall for her again!!! I like this shot for many reasons, firstly coz Laura is in it; I like the way she is standing; I like the way she seems engrossed with her mobile fone even though we are inside such an incredible historical monument; I like the fact that she has her suitcase with her, which seems a little bizarre or out of place and hints at a kind of tourism on the go or 'fly-by-nite' tourism but most of all I like it coz it reminds me of a time when I felt love in my life and of where it has led me, first the love of a woman, then the love of a language and finally the love of a country. Love really does work in unusual ways. Thank you Laura... Ti voglio bene :))
