Eggs Anyone?

I spotted this black snake in a black walnut tree about 15 or so feet up, just hanging out, looking for bird eggs, maybe laying eggs, maybe looking some other live avian meal...I RAN for the camera....Later on she descended into the briars below as I watched, and my guess is she was about 3 feet long. A beauty. Not the greatest quality of shot, but it was the find! Wow, was I excited!

What a lucky find, Nels ...I never believed how pretty a snake could be until I shot my first picture of a Pine snake last summer... I honestly think that unless one is into photography one does not really see nature with the same eyes that we do ...I understand the thrill of taking a picture of a snake now after last summer...

I agree with andrea. Once you get into photography you never see things the same again!

I like this, because the viewer has to locate the snake. Isn't that what finding a snake is like? The black and white lets you see the texture of its skin in contrast to its surroundings. Great shot!

A cool find and a great shot! The snakes keep getting in the birdhouses and eating the eggs here. It is sad because I love the birds but I love the snakes too.
