What your hard drive looks like inside
This the inside of a hard drive just like the one in your computer The platters that you see in the photo are what all the programs and data is stored on. They are plastic coated with a magnetic substance and can spin up to 10,000 Rpm. The arm that you see are the read-write heads and are about 5/10,000 of an inch off the platters.
