Good old Rt 66. I traveled it three times when I was young...once all the way to Oatman, California. Those trips were 1956,1958 and 1962. Everyone was in a station wagon. Two trips were with five passengers, and one was loaded with seven , dragging a pop-up...homemade tent trailer. My Dad built it and had offers to build more. He said they would never sell. The airconditioning 5/60. (4 windows and tailgate open at 60 mph).
This is a great photograph. Do you have any of the store itself?

I do have a wider shot of the store that I will perhaps upload at some point in the future. We actually live about 40 miles from Oatman (actually in AZ), in Kingman. Hackberry is about 30 miles or so east on the old route. I-40 bypassed much of the old route between Ash Fork AZ and Needles CA when it came through in the late 60's and 70's. We just took a photo drive the day that pic was taken, I'll be posting up more over time. Thanks for the great comment!
