If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).
Collections are a JPG+ feature. You must be a JPG+ member to create new collections and to add photos to collections.

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee, and the
birds of the air, and they shall tell thee...Or speak to the
earth, and it shall teach thee...Job 11:7-8
As you probably have been observing I have been doing most
of my self portraits outside next to nature which I feel close to...
One of the members wrote to me last night and wondered if I shot my own self-portrait..I would just like to make it clear in case anyone else is curious, Yes indeed I shoot my own self portraits...I would not put anyone else through the paces I put myself through to get a decent portrait . Many of my self portraits I delete and start over again. Oddly as this sounds I am actually more comfortable with taking my own self portraits than I am with someone else behind the camera shooting the picture of me. I compare this to learning from my own mistakes and teaching myself to do the best I can with the abilities that I have. I am still learning how to get in place in 10 seconds and compose myself before the self timer goes off...though not easy it is getting better with practice. Consistence and persistence is the key and this is where I am at this point in my life.
