James "Blood" Ulmer
Blood is the Real Deal. He, like John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters before him, distills the ups and downs of human exsistance into a song. Blood does not just sing a song, he has lived it. But the thing that really puts him apart from the others is his experience outside the blues, with everyone from Ornette Coleman to Funkadelic. This shot was done in Soho NYC with Illford Pan F 50.
