Once upon a time, two gummi bears met by a lake to share the view. The red bear whispered to his companion "I couldn't imagine being with anyone else right now, yellow my dear." He place his arm around her as she replied "Aw Red, me too!" They sat for the rest of the evening in each others arms as they enjoyed the beauty of the lake and lived happily ever after.

I took this photograph when I was in Cleveland visiting my girlfriend recently. We had a lunch picnic down on the lakeside that included ham sandwiches, mixed fruit and of course gummi bears. As we lounged on our blanket soaking up the rays of the sun, we ate and played with gummi bears giving them stories and creating dialogues, to which birthed the idea for the photograph. In much the same manner as my girlfriend and I shared the scenery, the gummi bears, too, shared a moment of endearment as they cuddled on the shore line. By giving the human qualities with a recognizable gesture, the gummi bears come alive as if they were truely in love sitting side by side on the shores of Lake Erie.

To emphasize the color of the landscape, I adjusted the aperture and exposure to allow the translucent coloring of the gummi bears to glow in the warm sun, while at the same time, allowing the blueness of the lake compliment the two lovers of red and yellow.
