Balloon Popping
Rhinebeck Aerodrome, NY.
Balloon popping competition. It was interesting to watch the balloons if a pilot missed, air flow makes for strange patterns.

Cool shot - doesn't seem like a fair contest. That must have been some fast shutter speed to freeze the propeller.

Wow Kevin....they sure do weird things in New York!!!! Here in Idaho, we don't let the balloons get that high (we leave that to the druggies) and we just use pins to pop them (the balloons, not the druggies). Seriously......great capture!!

Down here in DC if anyone lets a balloon off in the air, fighter jets, secret laser wielding satellites and heavy antiaircraft fire is immediately directed at the offending “object of fun” (OOF) bringing it to a quick and decisive end....the same holds true for the person responsible for the unfortunate release of the afore mentioned OOF object.
