Harmless
Northern Water Snake.
Non-poisonous, bad tempered snake. Has an anti-coagulant in its saliva that will make you bleed a lot. Will bite fast and repeatedly, tends to chew. These are confused with water moccasssins, or cottonmouths, which are poisonous but live much farther south than the NY home of the Northern.
Favorite snake of Queen Elizabeth.

Oh yeah, he's real high on my list of favorites, too. I mean how much more could you possibly ask for in a snake?!?!?

Yes, the Queen adores this snake, having been quoted as calling them, " Nature's darlings." She also has been rumored to have an affinity for the locust.

Queen "E" liked things that bleed a lot...especially Spanish Armadians....that is if we're talking about the first Queen E.....if not, then that's an entirely DIFFERENT story....sorry... Nice shot - nasty snake, yuk...
