For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the
flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away... But the word of the Lord endureth forever...
I Peter 1: 24-25

Life opens to close as a flower,
Stalks spring forth strong and agile..
Clocks tick quickly by the hour
Petals fall away sickly and fragile.
Now foliage is fresh,
Alive and well...
Alas the bloom
Won't always keep,
Their glory to tell
But will lie in grass
To fade into sleep.
The human flesh,
May not be too late
To eternally bloom;
Beyond heavens gate,
If granted a pass
In God's many rooms.
Poetry by me AJP

Today I was happy to see the first bloom of our Siberian Irises...My husband's mother before she passed away in 1990 gave us a few transplants of her Irises. She really had a green thumb and I think of her whenever our Siberian Irises begin to bloom.

They are beautiful and what a wonderful reminder. I thought of Mistress Mary when I first saw this, only I don't see you as being contrary.

Regenia, I smiled when you said "Mistress Mary", as that is the name of my husband's only sister ...There were ten brothers in their family and she being the only girl had her work cut out for her to contend with that many brothers when she was young...she loves flowers too, but Mary is not contrary ..She is a very admirable lady. I on the other hand am very contrary:) Thanks to all for your comments...Very appreciated.

I love your dress and hat, you look so beautiful and spring like. I have never heard of Siberian Irises, from what I can tell they look very much like Louisiana Irises that we have here. This is a very beautiful SP Andrea : )
