I think every one can relate to an over abundance of turtles when they fish. I know I have lost a lot of bait to them. We used to have some pretty large ones around my house due to a lake close by. My son can relate to the claws and their bite from a terrible experience he had with the daddy of them all. We found the turtle crossing the road in front of us as we were driving very close to our house. We stopped the car as my son insisted on attempting to pick him up and take him home. The claws on this turtle were about 3 to 4 inches long and his shell was close to 24 inches across, if not more. I suppose one of our neighboring towns has Lizard man, while we had Gigantis Turtle.

When I was a very young girl, my grandparents had an outhouse with a path that led up to it. On one side of the path was a snapping turtle pit and the other side was a cactus patch with extremely long needles. In the winter, with little feet and white plastic boots dressed in our night time nighties, we would slip slide to the outhouse in real fear of not losing our footing. We became very skilled at walking on ice this way..lol
