Berneray Twilight
Pink streamers of cloud paint the twilight and sea above and around the white sands of Berneray with the hills of Harris to the north.
As the light fell and the sun sank below the horizon, the cloud streamers above began to take on the most extraordinary and intense pink hues against the deepening blue of the sky. I love the way in long exposure shots by the sea, the light and colours bounce and reflect in quite unexpected ways. It lends an accidental quality to the shots that actually make perfect sense when you see them so the subtle flecks of colour in the water reflect and echo what's above them. Its an extraodinary place, this beach on western edge of Berneray, on the western edge of Europe.
