OK THIS PHOTO HAS OVER 100 HITS BUT NO COMMENTS....? IS IT TOO RAW FOR JPG? ...OR IS IT TO OUT OF CONTEXT TO FIT IN WITH ALL THE FLOWER PHOTOS?...DOES IT MAKE YOU UNEASY? ...GOOD THAT WHAT I MEANT TO DO.

It is very raw. Some people can't handle this kind of... expression in a photo. But photos tell of life. Of pain. Of happiness. Of fear. Of any emotion we are capable of living. Addiction is no different. You have captured addiction at perhaps it's most powerful. And I have not words. But it's brilliant work, David.

Anything "raw" is too raw for JPG!!! Not really what they are looking for, you know. I would suggest kitty cats and breasts they seem to be the big favorites,

Well, you ask whether it's out of context? I'd tend to say slightly yes! Why? Because it's in line with your other images of narcotics and paraphernalia but not in a context of a story or personal view. It could be just me, but nowadays it seems the general (western?)public is flooded with this kind of singular depiction and aestheticisation of drug-use. One could blame MTV, tabloids or Hollywood, but it serves the human nature of voyeurism and lurid minds. It's too easy to take something 'uneasy' and declare it as greater good, e.g. art. Just my two cents.
The topic is very very relevant -

WHEN I ASKED IF IT WAS OUT OF CONTEXT I WAS ASKING COMPARED TO THE OTHER COOKIE CUTTER IMAGES THAT ARE RAVED ABOUT ON THIS SITE NOT IN COMPARISON TO MY OWN WORK.
MR. WEBER YOU ALSO STATE THAT IT IS NOT RELATED TO A STORY OR A PERSONAL VIEW AND ON THE CONTRARY IT IS AS THE OLD SAYING GOES “ A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS” IN SHORT IF I WANTED TO WRITE I WOULD HAVE BEEN A WRITER NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER.
ALSO YOUR BLATANT “EASTERN” PREJUDICES OF THE “WEST” IS CLEARLY STATED BUT I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW AS IT IS STATED IN MY PROFILE I AM A PRODUCT OF MY ENVIRONMENT, I DID NOT GROW UP IN ‘BURBS, AND THIS IS WHAT I GREW UP AROUND NOT IN MY HOME BUT WITHIN MY COMMUNITY.
THERE IS NO MTV OR TABLOID CAN LIVE UP TO WHAT I HAVE WITNESSED WITH MY OWN EYES.
I HAVE NEVER AESTHETICIZE MY IMAGES, I JUST DISPLAY THEM IN HOPES TO OPEN MINDS TO THE REAL WORLD IN HOPES TO MAKE A CHANGE.
SO I ASK YOU MR. WEBER WHO TRULY IS DISPLAYING A LURID MIND YOU WITH A PREJUDICE CLOSED MIND WITH THE TYPICAL EASTERN FEELINGS TOWARD THE WEST AND HOW BARBARIZED WE ARE AS A POPULATION BUT CHOOSE NOT TO LOOK AT THE ATROCITIES THAT LAY WITHIN THE CLOSETS OF YOUR PAST OR SOME ONE LIKE ME THE DISPLAYS THIS UP FRONT IN HOPES OF MAKING CHANGES?
SO MR. WEBER HERE IS A DOLLARS WORTH OF MY SENCE IN EXCHANGE OF YOUR TWOECENTS AND YOU CAN KEEP THE CHANGE ****! -

It is an inspired and sad photo. I believe you captured a moment that, unfortunately, is part of the human condition. Our weakness, addictions, feeling of hopelessness are as much a part of our world as hope, strength, beauty. To deny one side of our human existence is to deny us as a whole. Both are equally human and as such should be presented.
By looking at your photos I see that you see both these sides.
Just remember to see more beauty in the world than ugliness so that you don't lose yourself... That is a message for all us. -

It doesn't impress me that much, maybe because I have a drug addict in the family. We cannot really understand their emotions. This photo isn't raw for me. Posting it might be a good idea to express the problem.
