If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).
Collections are a JPG+ feature. You must be a JPG+ member to create new collections and to add photos to collections.

While perusing photos on JPG one day I click on a black and white photo titled “Huron River†by Jen. It was an immediate favorite and was the Huron River that runs through Ann Arbor Michigan. I knew it was film and not digital and it reminded me of the techniques of Howard Bond, my photography hero. I left a comment for Jen and asked if she knew of Howard Bond. She also had taken classes from Howard and it was very evident in her work.
Mr. Bond had a gallery reception in Chelsea, Michigan on June 6th and I emailed Jen. A JPG Meet was arranged. And what a delightful talented JPGer I met that evening. Jen and her husband Scott both shoot film, use medium and large format cameras, have their own darkroom and I’ll bet one day are going to be a very famous couple in the photography world. Scott took this photo of Jen and I outside the River Gallery and did a great job considering my digital camera was totally foreign to him. It was a wonderful evening of Howard Bond, and meeting so many talented photographers all in one place.
Jen’s work is brilliant. Check out some of my favorites in the links below.
