"I remember every single rabbit I work with" the founder of SaveABunny Marcy Schaff told me.

About 300 to 400 rabbits are held by Marcy every year in Marin County. Her rescue center works with organizations in the area to minimize euthanasia for these animals by working with sick or injured rabbits, making sure that the shelters have a variety of animals to maximize adoptions and adopting rabbits to people through SaveABunny.

While animal rescues are consistently busy, they have all seen an increase in animals that have been surrendered due to economic hardships and a decrease in donations with the recession.

Here Marcy holds a rabbit named "Marcy's Boyfriend" which she will tell you is her favorite without hesitation.
