Easily one of my favorite people in Ethiopia, and we don’t even understand each other. Asegedech lives next door to our workshop. 7 people share 3 beds in their tiny 2 room house. The walls are eroding because it leaks during the rainy season. The floor is a patchwork of fragments of different linoleum styles. Of her seven children, only one or two are working.
Yet she is always smiling, always working to make her family’s life better, and always happy to invite us in for coffee.
