Carol Gardens, Brooklyn
If you want to know how people really feel about the general state of affairs in this country you usually don't have to look much further than the walls outside. Chances are someone has written the sentiment defiantly on an overpass, alleyway or facade. This photo, taken shortly after the public trust was violated by Wall Street in late 2008, boldly states that Main Street has had enough. The message is written on a derelict building located in an industrial section of Brooklyn. While the building is not geographically far from the Financial District, it resides in a completely different world waiting to be bailed out.
