Abandoned army control post located at Castle Street, the access point between the city centre and Falls Road and beyond (i.e. mainly nationalist/Catholic West Belfast). This is looking towards the commercial city centre (which has enjoyed a massive influx of money since then). (Scanned colour print).

There is some atmosphere in there! Awaiting people to come in and sit on the sofa.

Love this composition, the lines and all the different textures, bricks, paving stones, railings and the soft sofa, brilliant..

Thanks, Eithne! I can't remember now whether there was (and is) a furniture shop to the left, just beyond the picture frame, but I think that is the case. Should have taken more shots from different angles and distances, but those were the days of film -- and most probably, I didn't want to stop too long in case my company got bored.

Certainly, it is not worth bringing in... much better to sit down in the couch.

It looks reasonably comfy, doesn't it? Thanks for faving, Llorenç, although I know you're no fan of the portrait format ;-)

Thanks, Benny and Claudia! And thanks everyone for your faves! (And Llorenç, don't even try to pretend that you have managed to forget what the portrait format is or that you don't hate it with great vigour -- LOL!)

“For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.”
