Awesome project? History in the making? Report in!

This was taken in what is now called Islamic Cairo. Though the people have changed and Cairo has expanded and modernized, there remains at the metropolis' heart the remnants of an ancient city. Here the roads are still narrow and curving, pedestrians flow in and out of countless street markets, and carts outnumber cars ten times to one. This entire scene plays itself out over and over again amidst this faded architecture, which now stands as a testament to a distant, almost forgotten past.

The architectural elements of this picture are incredible. This is from a world I do not know. Unfortunately for me, it reminds me of either Prince of Persia or Aladdin, was this taken in Sepia?

@Jonathan, you made me smile - if this shot had been after dark, I'd have named this the 1001 nights or some such thing. No, did not shoot in sepia - I warmed the image up in post-production later.

The lines are very striking. This would make a good B+W, but is also good in sepia. The color cast adds warmth which draws the viewer in. Very good work.
