in ND a few weeks ago, i passed a town sign like this for a town called, unbelievably, "Downer." i wanted to take a picture but i was going 85 on a long stretch of two lane. love this photo.

there's an old joke musicians tell on stage to pass the time: how do you get to texas? go west until you smell it, and south until you step in it. i guess that applies to happiness, too. i love the photo a lot. very humorous, too.
