I shot this sprinkler in my mother-in-law's backyard just after the sun came up on January 20th, 2009--just hours before Barack Obama was sworn in as President. I found this photo to be incredibly powerful for that reason, and every time I look at it, it brings back all of those feelings of a new day, of a new hope.Political Reality has sunk in since that day, but now, instead of making me wistful, this photo reminds me of something else far more positive:
The world is ALWAYS beautiful--you just need to pay attention, and soon you will discover that it is EVERYWHERE around you.
