I had just said to my husband that I didn't know how people got those beautiful dragonfly photos since they flit around so much when one landed on a twig not far from me and held still long enough for me to get this photo. I did not have a macro lens on my camera nor did I have the tripod with me. So I had to use the lens that I had and zoom in to 200MM and hold my breath. At home after downloading my shots for the day I was thrilled to see how well this shot came out : ). Also I discovered another dragonfly to the bottom right just almost out of the photo and it was beating its wings where the top one posed very nicely for me.
This looks much better in the lightbox.

Good for you to capture a dragonfly...and a great shot! We don't have them in our part of the country...otherwise I would be out there trying to round one up:)

Fabulous in the lightbox!! This is a great capture, Ann. I find them hard to photograph, and usually lose patience and give up. This is beautiful.
