You can't really tell by looking at the image, but the actual size of this plate is about 1.5 x 2.5 inches. I created it with my Agfa Cadet box camera (I MacGyvered the shutter mechanism as it doesn't have a bulb setting).

An ambrotype is exactly like a ferrotype only on glass rather than metal. The process is slightly more complicated as the glass hass to be carefully polished and coated with albumen (egg whites) before applying the collodion.
