The number in the left ears of cows in Europe, is a european norm stating that every single cow must have a unique number since birth, to be controlled for health reasons.

..tks guys for commenting in this image.. i really enjoyed the cow shooting, actually very close to them; the whole serie turned out very well but this one really put an almost human touch to the scene..
