Taken 11th September 2009.
Rerwick Battery was formally first line defence for the North Scottish coast against invasion from the German Forces, as well as look out posts for U-boats which would have targeted the Allied Fleets using Scapa Flow.
I've entered this in Transformations as I feel it has so many meanings.
Natural, the changing of the seasons, light and weather.
The changing of the world and the wars, conflicts and threats faced.
Now the defences stand vacant and crumbling.
