During the 16 de Septiembre parade in Cd Juarez, several helicopters flew the length of the parade continuously, on the look out for the very possible danger. Though my roots are Mexican, I'm very glad to be American. I'm 6 feet tall, bald, and +220 lbs. I've also never been in trouble, which actually made me feel more intimidated by the events of the day. I "look" American, which makes me a potential target for criminal types, even out in the open. I'm large for a Mexican citizen, with a large camera, which makes me a potential target for law enforcement questioning. Even though my mother and I were on a quick shopping run, it was hard not to feel eyes on us where-ever we went.
