Making a Point
Bucks are extremely alert animals.
The antlers are not blood vessel covered bone as we were all taught, but are a highly sensitive type of mapping radar combined with high definition audio locators.
By implementing these, my camera shutter sounded to him like an old screen door slamming, and he stopped, turned, and stared directly at me for 1/4 second before choosing flight of the fight or flight question. The only other shot I have of him is a blurred brown streak.
They can really move when they want.

I like the way he's framed between the branches...they keep drawing my eye back to his very alert face. Good job!

It's a little hard to tell, but I believe he's sticking his tongue out at you.

LOL!! I do love your descriptions. That explains why I can find the tracks but never the deer. A wonderful capture! I am so glad you are finding such wonderful things around you.
