Mini-metro Car Going Up
Perugia, the capital city of the Italian region of Umbria, is ranked in history books at the same level as Siena and Florence. The power and wealth of the city are reflected in its many historical monuments. Unfortunately, during the building boom of the 60s, rapid expansion resulted in ugly suburbs that detract from the terraced beauty of the historical part of the city. Within Old Town Perugia, though, it’s easy to get swept up in that city’s rich Etruscan, Roman, and medieval past. The distance and elevation changes between Old Town and New Town Perugia led to a slick mini-metro system. Captured this shot in one of the mini-metro cars as we made our way up to the historical heart of the city.
