Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give understanding that I may learn thy commandments.
Psalms 119:73

I did this self portrait yesterday...Today it is not so nice outside..I bought the pantsuit that I am wearing from the junk shop in our town and the hat all for $3 and wanted to see how it would look in a self portrait taken by the willows. There was a lot of sun light coming from behind me when I did this self-timer and used manual focus. You can see the colored version of the outfit I am wearing underneath this picture that I put in the theme: "Out of Place" I sometimes like the clothes that I buy at the Second Hand Shops better than I do the new fashions. I don't necessarily look for what is in style...but what is classy. I have said this before but it is worth repeating. I often gravitate toward styles of the 40's. I love that era because I was born in 1943. Yeah, I am not ashamed to say I am 66 years old. You got to live with the age you are and make the best of it, because age doesn't stop for anyone. It's how you live your life that is most important by the time your life is ended.

You are a very classy lady and I am proud to call you my friend : ). I too was born in 40's, 1944, and being in my 60's is comfortable. You are so right, we cannot stop aging and we need to make the most of what we have and be thankful. I sure don't feel - or act - my age - LOL : ) You get some really nice clothes at your second hand store and this B&W is very well done.

Andrea and Ann, I have to agree with both your comments about aging. I am 65, will be 66 next March, and I just don't worry about it. It's all part of the life cycle, this aging process. I am thankful that I still have a sense of humor and a wonderful family....AND a deep faith in God which helps me along the way. :)

Andrea, I need to have you give shopping lessons to my wife!! This is such a glamorous shot! The background wash does enable one to focus entrirely on you and your outfit; and the B&W so well suits this marvelous image!!

This would be appropriate on the "runway", but I like it so much better here. The black and white gives it a certain formality that enhances your beautiful classy look.
