" Home Sweet Home " Wayside Farm - Cedar Falls, Iowa
This is where my family lived when I was born. Wayside Farm on west 12th street in Cedar Falls, Iowa. 80 acres of some of the richest black soil in the USA. We had a dairy, sold chickens and their eggs, hogs and grew corn and hay. My Mother had a huge beautiful garden. It was a 5 bedroom house with a huge attic and cellar. This was in the late 30's and 40's. In the 50's this beautiful farm and all of its buildings sold for 45 thousand dollars. The cost of my house in the hood these days. The farm land has been sub divided. I have never wanted to return as it will never be as it was those many years. It will always be as it was then in my memory.

No, my present home is not the one I have always dreamed of having as I got older, but then there will never be another to compare
to the home I had as child.
At least not one I could afford these days.

It is a beautiful place Gloria and I bet it was a wonderful place to grow up. I know it would be heart breaking to see it now. A wonderful capture.

This farm had to be a wonderful place for you as a child! Clean living, fresh air, room to run and play. Obviously, your love for animals started back then. My grandmother had a farm when I was young and I loved spending time there....
