Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

I am unable to make my "signature dish" for this theme as we are moving and currently have no working oven...but it is lasagna (chicken and dumplings is my next best)..
recipe:
boil noodles and layer in a baking dish three layers of
wet noodles
ricotta cheese
raw spinach
salt/pepper
ground beef/sauce
then over the final top layer shred mozerella and lotsa paprika...and bake for one hour at 350.
