Caramel Corn
This is my signature dish at Christmas. I make this by the gallons and give as gifts. You will not be disappointed. Guaranteed! Recipe follows:
CARAMEL CORN Oven Baked
Measure out 6 quarts popped corn
2 sticks margarine
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Karo dark syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
Bring all ingredients (except corn ) to a boil - - stir occasionally – then boil for 5 minutes without stirring - -
Remove from heat - -
Add 1 teaspoon Vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda.
Pour over popped corn and stir quickly to coat.
Pour coated corn into a large pan and bake 1 Hour at 225 degrees stirring every 15 minutes..
Spread corn out on waxed paper—When cool break apart…
Store in airtight container
*****may add nuts to the mixture before baking*****
