Love the photo, really nice light and coloring! Ah.. i need to go to Japan soon.
By the way, the girl is not just an average woman, but a shrine maiden or 'miko' as the japanese call them. You can see this by the type of clothing she wears. Her dress is called a 'chihaya', which consists of a red 'hakama' divided skirt and a white kimono shirt with big sleeves. ( So it's not just kimono which most of the time is a T-formed robe all over the body ) So the explanation is a bit off, just a friendly hint. Not trying to be a wise guy in particular, just trying to make it accurate. ;)
( kimono can be used to describe 'clothes' in general though, but it a bit old-fashioned and out of use )
