273/365 A Fire Hazzard
Dryer sheets are a fire hazzard because they make a film on the lint filter that will not wash off. I keep confiscating the dryer sheets and someone keeps buying more of them. They are great for sticking in drawers and chest though. I found another box of them today. LOL.

I just learned something, Regenia; thanks! A friend of mine told me I'm allowed one new fact a day or something will fall out the other side of my brain. He has a PhD, so he is allowed two, LOL!!! I max him out on a regular basis! ;>)

They also work well to keep bunnies from treating your garden like a salad bar. Cut into strips and push under the dirt near plants you wish to "save."

I read about the fire hazard and scrubbed my lint filter and now most the lint goes right through it clogging up the exterior outlet, which we had to cover with a screen to keep the birds out! So now my husband has to climb up on a ladder to remove the lint which the filter didn't catch! Duh!!!!

THey are also good (if lavendar scented, apparently) for keeping mosquitos away. Put one in ytour pocket and don't worry about the little pests. No personal experience, so use at your own risk.

I have heard they can be a fire hazard also, but yet another use for them is to put a sheet or two in under the car seats to freshen the air in the vehicle. There are lots of uses for those sheets besides in the dryer where they cause troubles. I bought some of those blue dryer balls to put in my dryer and they leave the laundry nice a soft as good as the dryer sheets ever did!

I use liquid Downey, and save the dryer sheets for eliminating static electricity on things like the levelors, slips, and anywhere else that static cling exists. Very sharp SP!

yea, they can be a fire hazard but fireman son-in-law said if you rinse the lint trap occasionally it's okay. i once received an e-mail with 101 uses for these things. and the mosquitos will stay away if you put one in your pocket( any scent), i use them on the kids when we camp!

If you have food stuck on the bottom of a pot, just throw some water and a sheet in the pot and soak over night. I softens the goo and makes it a lot easier to remove. LOL Thanks for the tip.

Great tip, Regenia and picture..Speaking of dryers my Hygienist told me yesterday in the dentist office that they heard something moving around in their dryer and unfortunately a squirrel had got in their vent and couldn't get out. ..and by time they got it out the squirrel had died...I guess you could say that was a hazzard in their dryer also:)

Ha! Sounds like the dryer elves are sneaking in and replacing them! These also make nice air fresheners in your car.

You would think the softner companies would have to put a warning on the boxes regarding this! I had a friend who did have a fire because of the softener sheet, but the firemen told her it was because she had several sheets in there. I don't use them at all any longer. Great shot, Regenia.

One more use for the dryer sheets is to place them in your containers of Christmas decorations when you pack them away and next year will not be musty smelling and also put them in your empy suitcases...

What! You spend money on things like washers, dryers and dryer sheets instead of camera equipment! Oh, the shame of it all. ;-) Wonderful photo and thanks for the info/warning, and all the follow-up comments.
