She's already checked out...
I saw this "tween" at a physician's office the other day. Firmly entrenched in the hip-hop culture and androgyny, I wasn't quite sure until she pulled out her pink video thing (what is that, anyway - I'm not into it) - and started playing video games that I realized a little girl was inside those clothes.
My grandmother hormones kicked in and I wanted to rip that hat off her head or at least turn it around.
I'm so bad.

I have seen quite a few of these kids that I would love to sit down and have a heart to heart with. A terrific capture May. If only she could see this a few years from now.

Such a perfect statement about the youth today! They would be lost without their 'technology tethers'....how sad is that??? Great capture!!

What this kid really neeeds is an extensive attitude adjustment, laced with a generous helping of reality. Good shot May.

Who says we have to dress or look a certain way in order to 'fit in'? Youth is one of the only opportunities that we have to fully explore and expresss ourselves -for me this image illustrates the process that we all go through when we're growing up and realising who we are! I say go girl! Enjoy, before society attempts to squeeze you into a 'box' not of your own devising! Great shot :)
