Small Scale Farming
Argentine ant harvesting honeydew excretions from these ornate scale insects. There is a small clear drop of nectar in the ant's mandibles. In exchange, the ants protect them from predators.
For our own use,
the males secrete large amounts of pure white wax, which can be used to make candles.
