The Man From El Coro
On the east cape of Baja California Sur, and riding a KLR 650, I took a turn on a dirt road running up into the mountains just to see where I might end up. At the end of the road was this man, Tio, who has lived in the same place all his life. He has no running water, no plumbing. But, he just received one solar panel from the government of Mexico, so now he has electricity. I returned the next day with 2 beers for us to share and he allowed me to take his picture. The blue tint is from the tarp he uses to protect his doorway from the monsoons. I plan to return to El Coro in January 2010 to see Tio again.
