Straw-bale construction is a building method that uses bales of straw as structural elements, insulation, or both. Straw-bale construction offers some advantages over conventional building systems because of the renewable nature of straw, its cost, easy availability, and its high insulation value.

Really beautiful job on photographing this...and I like the angle of the bale on the side of the frame to lead your eye to the rest of the scene using rule of thirds in your composition....Well done!
