Day 7/365
It is because of Him, that I am able to live...
Thank you, Debrah!
Lamentations 3:22-23 (New International Version)
22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Because it is Sunday I spent my morning in church. I am a small group leader for fourth grade girls in a place called 'The Zone'. It is a super relaxed atmosphere with music, drama skits and worship. It's my favorite and I would choose children's church over big people church any day!!!!!

This is just wonderful. I am not officially religious now, but as a kid, my parents took (or sent) me to all kinds of churches, synagogues, bible camps, Sunday schools. I liked Sunday school. It was in Ashern, a tiny town in northern Manitoba. An older missionary couple held Sunday school in their home every week. All us urchins dressed up more or less and put felt stickies of Jesus and Moses and camels and stuff on a felt board, and memorized incomprehensible short passages from the bible, and heard stories about the primitive pagan people in Africa. It was all very weird, and I liked it. But most of all I liked it because, after years of begging, my parents bought me the "Wyatt Earp" pants I so lusted after. Dark pants with light vertical stripes and an actual crease in the front. I looked forward to putting on my Wyatt Earp pants every Sunday (I didn't have the shirt, and I wasn't allowed to wear my holster with the Official Wyatt Earp Buntiline Special in it) and walking the block to Mr. and Mrs. Erickson's place and going into a different world for an hour and a half. And cookies. Nothing wrong with that.

Dawn! Very evocative. I too did the Sunday school thing. As a 4 year old, it was my job to polish everybody's shoes before church. I loved doing it as I got lots of positive strokes and I felt important to the ritual in some way.LOVE the shot and I thing Laternia said it best in her first comment on this! XXOO

first time for me to say to anyone.....you looked so elegant! Great sp. D.! Been so busy myself too, today. Pick up m-i-l and brought her to church and stayed. Just came home (6:00 pm). Now I need to bring my son to ignite night at the church again in prep for his confirmation.

Beautiful work on this Dawn. The Bible you are holding and the cross on the wall does perrfectly with your story. This could well be an editorial shot.
