[Arlington National Cemetery, November 6, 2009]

Eternal Father strong to save
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep
O, hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea

My father was my dad, my friend, my teacher, my hero, and my inspiration. The greatest compliment possible is to be told that I am like him.

My father was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. Please click on the link below to hear the USNA Glee Club’s version of “The Navy Hymn.”

The Navy Hymn was featured in the excellent motion picture “Crimson Tide.”

My father was Navy. I always loved the Army/Navy football game--and it reminds me of him. This is a very powerful and symbolic picture that also just happens to be professional captured. Right back at cha.

Such a beautiful memorial and honor presented to your wonderful father. I can relate to all this....my Dad was a WWII US Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Beale in the South Pacific. I love the roses at the base of his monument. And, Richard, "a grateful nation really does thank your father"....and all like him. They are what helps make America great and FREE!! Thank you so much for posting this beautiful memorial.
